KMHC Christmas Luncheon 2013

Yesterday entering the community room I looked around and found a good seat near the dessert table. Tenants Judy, Sandra, Dave and his sister Sue plus we had a special guest “Stan” at our table. The highlight for me was listening to his view on the bureaucrats in the native community. We started off with tenant Catherine saying grace and a lovely prayer then the people lined up at the buffet table. During this time the KMHC staff were totally unaware tenant Linda was upset.   She was sitting by herself at the other end of the room practically in tears. Empathy for others is something I’m good at so I walked over to comfort the woman. She appreciated my concern. The KMHC staff were also servers at the buffet table and I got gratification seeing Ingrid Nosel the HSC aka the cop caller finally doing some work around here. :P Fellow tenants – I notice we have a collage of native tenants at KMHC.  Some are humorous, strange, weird, shy, quiet, outspoken, sensitive while a f...

Tony To The Rescue Pt. 2

We’re having a big snowstorm in the land of Canada and where else would I be but stuck in my man cave.   Correction since this is a Native housing blog I’ll use the term ‘Teepee’. :D   Anyway with the passing of a fellow tenant the mood in the building is somber and quiet and rightly so. Then last night something happened, my next door neighbor Deloris had another smoke alarm scare.   In one of my previous blogs dated August 24, 2011 I wrote a story how poor Deloris tripped the smoke alarm and I came to her rescue.   Here’s the sequel. Last night while on the computer I could hear a smoke alarm sound it came from Deloris’s unit, just as I was getting ready to check on her, she came running to my door totally scared and confused.   I then took control of the situation her unit was filled with smoke.  I checked the stove area and sure enough she must have fallen asleep while making something to eat. The poor woman was making toast in the oven and it was i...

RIP Miss Norma

This morning my intercom rang and I answered it I heard the police talking in the background but nobody responded when I said hello!   So I hung up. I thought that’s strange I then looked out the window and noticed a police cruiser and ambulance in front of the building. It wasn’t until later in the day I received confirmation tenant Miss Norma has passed away.   Just yesterday she opened the front door for me after I went shopping and she looked ok. Goes to show when our time comes there is no warning. I have fond memories of Miss Norma she was a fellow tenant but only an acquaintance we never hung out together.   Once in a while we would chit chat if we met in front of the building. When I first moved to KMHC she made me feel welcome and warned me to avoid the bitches (gossipers and backstabbers). I use to see her often sitting outside the front entrance then after she had her last surgery I’d rarely see her. Miss Norma & I had conversations about this place s...

HRIC

Hamilton Regional Indian Centre held their Christmas Community Dinner at a banquet hall on Kenilworth Ave S.   This is my 3 rd year attending this event and I had a good time. We showed up early and found good seats. The cost to the event was non-perishable food donation so I brought two large shopping bags full of canned goods, pasta and rice. This was not a fancy affair, no waiters or fine dinnerware, no fancy linen, all this came about thanks to the HRIC staff and native volunteers who cheerfully helped serve the food.   Only five of us tenants showed up for the dinner and I’m happy to announce tenant and friend Shirley won the 50/50 draw.   Funny story: for reasons only known to Shirley after dinner she decided to walk over to Dollarama to shop for a few items. She was late getting back and nearly missed out when they called her winning ticket.   The dinner was open to all nationalities we don’t discriminate. I said hello to many non-native guests from down...

Tenant Meeting November 29, 2013

I decided to attend the latest tenant meeting just to see and hear what UNH’s has to report.  Usually there’s a nice luncheon held for the tenants but this time it was sparse. On the buffet table corn soup was offered that tasted bland, a plate of cheese and fry bread that was cold and hard, juice and coffee. I did enjoy the conversations that went on among my fellow tenants then it was down to business. None of the topics applied to me personally so I sat back and listened to what the staff had to say.   Sharon the office clerk made a statement the KMHC staff keep information confidential. I thought “Are you kidding me!   The staff has the biggest mouths in the organization you can’t tell me they don’t talk among themselves about management and tenants.” A perfect example is Ingrid the HSC telling her husband what's goes on @ KMHC then he sends me messages either to complain or warn me what she's up to.  Lynda Jones the H.O.W. made a speech about the survey th...

Looking For A New Superintendent

There's a tenant notice on the bulletin board It's official, KMHC superintendent Francois Trembley and his wife has got the boot. Fired! Canned! Quit! Out The Door! call it what you will they're gone. Boy! Talk about short term employment.  Oh well I had a feeling he wouldn't last long you gotta remember Ingrid is HSC.  I've seen and heard many former staff members be thrown under the bus by her. Attention! Job Opening @ KMHC  *Apply at your own risk*  $26,000 a year plus a small bachelor converted to a one bedroom. Job requirements: must have stamina, strength and able to bow your head when the senior staff pass by.  I wonder if Jan Porter would be willing to come back!  Naaa what am I thinking. :P  On other news: I received a call from the KMHC office asking if I'm interested in participating in their survey.  Looks like somebody in the organization read my previous blog post. :P  Anyway I immediately called her back and agreed but now af...

As The Walls Fell

Yesterday I was perturbed I had an important guest arriving from out of town at noon and wouldn’t you know it the building intercom system is not working.  My guest had to walk back to their car and call me from a cellphone to open the front door.  There is no sign posted at the entrance from the KMHC office informing the tenants the intercom system is out of order. I was told the UNH’s Director and the HSC were conducting a survey from select tenants in regard to KMHC. It’s a good idea but UNH’s has a problem listening to tenants with strong opinions. Don’t worry ladies I’m not offended that I was not asked to participate in the survey. :P At this time I’m going to post my own suggestions on how to improve KMHC: 1. Uninstall the camera in the community room, there is absolutely no privacy and tenants don’t feel comfortable which is why KMHC has a low attendance to their programs, meetings, functions and only a few use the internet plus it’s illegal. 2. The recycling...

Thanksgiving Luncheon 2013

Today UNH’s held a tenant/staff Thanksgiving luncheon in the community room. I had second thoughts of attending but at the last moment and to be sociable I decided to show up.   I was 45 minutes late so it’s understandable the food was cold so I have no complaints.   Food was served buffet style so I helped myself to the goodies.   This is the time when I can chit-chat with the UNH’s staff and they seem like a good group of people.   I joked with Darryl the head maintenance guy about his old clunker of a truck that he no longer drives. It was nice to see Linda the receptionist is back, the last time I saw and spoke to her was at a downtown community centre. I spoke briefly to the UNH’s tenant counselor and asked what her job entails, she was informative.  Of course HSC Ingrid Nosel was nowhere to be seen she’s suppose to be running KMHC yet she can’t or won’t find the time to show up at this function. *pathetic* I decided to sit and dine with Wilimina, Nor...

The KMHC Office

Let me describe what happens when a tenant sends a complaint to the office.   Generally the H.O.W. (Housing Outreach Worker) reads it then passes it on to the HSC (Housing Service Coordinator) to investigate and work on a solution.   Tenant, Dean is now a former friend. He lives in the same building as I but on a different floor, lately whenever he sees me at the entrance or in the hallway he’ll give snide remarks or insults in hope of getting a reaction.   Well Dean the only reaction you’re going to get is a knock on your door from the cops if this keeps up. At first I thought I would try a subtle approach by writing a letter to the KMHC office and suggest they have a talk with Dean about his lunatic behavior and for it to stop. The HSC Ingrid Nosel is totally clueless and a lousy investigator.   She instructed a staff member to write and suggest I was at fault and according to the security camera there is no evidence the incident happened. Relying on a securi...

KMHC Tenants Petition Have Been Denied

A few weeks ago I was asked by a fellow tenant to sign a petition to put the park bench back in front of the building.  After reading the petition I signed it. Yesterday all tenants received a response from the petition, an unsigned two page letter with a copy of the petition from Urban Native Homes Inc. I also noticed 75% tenant signatures on the petition. “Request to put the park bench back in it’s original place has been denied”. I didn’t plan on making a blog about this issue but since UNH’s delivered a letter under my door then it deserves a response on my blog site. The park bench has been helpful in many ways. It’s a place where one can sit and relax and collect their thoughts or chat or rant with a fellow neighbor or to rest after a day of errands etc. The elderly tenants feel safe when near the building.   I can remember when former tenant Danny Joseph was being evicted by HSC Ingrid Nosel. Danny was visibly upset and I sat next to him, comfort him on the park be...

Horizon Utilities

This morning Horizon Utilities dropped by to inspect our units, being the inquisitive person I asked inspector Joe questions. He was helpful and informative; one thing that caught my attention Horizon Utilities has been commissioned by the Govt to educate consumers on how to conserve electrical energy. Since hydro is covered in our rent it good to remind tenants wasting electricity is costly. Inspector Joe checked my power bars and the refrigerator and offered to replace the light fixtures with low energy light bulbs and gave some good advice. At the end of the inspection, I asked how my unit held up on energy conservation. He replied I’m doing well.   * Hurray For Tony *  :) Inspector Joe & I had a little chat, he mentioned if we don’t start conserving hydro the Province will have to build another nuclear power plant to keep up with the demand. And guess who’ll be flipping the bill…..Us Canadians!. Since I passed the inspection I feel good enough to give my unit ...

If It's Not Broken, Why Fix It!

With new tenants and staff arriving at KMHC in early 2013 I was expecting the unexpected and I was not disappointed. The top issue with tenants, KMHC took away the park bench it's been located in front of the entrance since this joint opened up and they moved it to the courtyard.  After listening to some concerns from my fellow tenants I can see why they are upset.   Here’s what UNH’s does best by making tenants and their guests feel unwelcome @ KMHC.   Posting a general notice to all tenants complaining children and adult guests are seen via the security cameras leaving the building unescorted and with keys.   Ha!   HSC Ingrid and Dale S. the sleazy paralegal will both be having an orgasm issuing N5 eviction notices to the elderly and handicapped tenants in this building. :P As with any housing complex/building not all tenants get along. I don’t talk to Deano anymore the few times I’ve passed him outside the building, I can hear him mumbling incoherently ...

Native Cigarettes

One of my previous blogs dated Feb 26, 2012 I wrote about contraband cigarettes.   Last night on TVO (a public broadcasting station) there was an interesting documentary on the subject. The narrator explains how tobacco has been here (North America) for centuries and it’s a gift from the creator.   A smoke shack owner on the Rez said selling cigarettes helped pay for her house and would rather work then be on welfare. Similar stories also came up in the documentary. One man said the RCMP gets involved because the Govt like any business doesn’t get a piece of the profits.   Good example on how the Federal Government works: If a native is selling moccasins on the roadside the RCMP couldn’t give a shit, but if the native is selling cigarettes out comes the shotgun.   Producing and delivering Native cigarettes is a dangerous game. The person risks their cartons of cigarettes being confiscated, heavy fines and later possible jail time if the fines are not paid. ...

"Just A Friendly Reminder".....

.....…These were the last words I heard from H.O.W. Lynda Jones. I don’t consider this a big issue but it is annoying. This morning I received a phone call from Lynda Jones reminding me to escort my guests to the entrance/exit door during the day.   I find this to be peculiar since I rarely have guests during the day, when I do I ALWAYS walk them to the exit and I told her that.  Hey Lynda here's my "friendly reminder" I suggest the KMHC office staff get the facts straight and next time provide prove ie: from the security cameras capture a photo with time and date of the unescorted person leaving my unit during the day.   I know how the KMHC office operates when the HSC Ingrid wants to be a bitch she gets the junior staff to do her dirty work. Trust me I got all the scoops from former staff. Yesterday I read a notice on the bulletin board, the annual tenant BBQ will be held at head office. Have you seen the head office building!  It's next to a unpaved laneway wi...

The Beginning Of The End

Friendships don’t always last especially when one physically attacks the other. Tenant Dean K. and I were friends almost from the time he moved in the building. We’ve had many personal conversations and hung out as buddies, I've gotten to know the guy I’m aware he has a mental disability.   On Friday afternoon something happened that was totally out of character.  He came up to me while I was talking to a female tenant and in a fit of rage he elbowed me on the chest. My first reaction was to punch him back then I realized he’s a victim of a car accident, suffers brain damage and for medical reasons has a metal plate to protect his head. I was angry and demanded an explanation he responded by shouting obscenities. There was no reasoning with the guy.   After thinking about it I decided to call the police.   Most of the altercation was caught on camera. From experience I found out sending a complaint letter to the KMHC office about another tenant doesn’t guarantee ...

Tenant Meeting July 23, 2013

After the big storm we had over the weekend I decided to do my usual volunteer community work by washing the windows for the tenants on my floor including my own pad.   KMHC don’t wash windows.   On to the tenant meeting: it was uneventful as usual with one exception we were introduced to the new Superintendent and his wife, they seem like a nice couple. Poor Francois I suspect he's not use to public speaking "he was breaking out in a sweat" :) On the agenda was the problem the building has with tenants and pets. The HSC made it clear repeated complaints to pet owners will be handed a N5 notice and face eviction. What crossed my mind when I heard this was total disappointment.   What the HSC should have done during the screening/interview process of new applicants is lay down the rules involving pets and their owners before signing the lease. Perhaps then she wouldn’t have to utter threats of eviction to the elder tenants.  There was a pissing contest going o...

Summer 2013

It’s been quiet around here since my last post.   We have the usual tenant crowd sitting outside enjoying the summer evening air and others going about their lives. Sort of peaceful and I like it.   On Father’s Day the KMHC office were up to their old tricks by giving selected tenants cake while others where not included. And via phone calls only select tenants are told of upcoming events. It seems Deb the driver has cause riffs with a few tenants with her attitude. Let’s hope the situation is ironed out soon.   We have a new Superintendent so I introduced myself to Francois Tremblay. Gosh!  You couldn’t get a better French name for a native guy. :)   It was nice to see young Luke our former building cleaner I think he was training the new Superintendent on what mundane chores has to be done around here. I noticed since former Superintendent Jan Porter left, the building upkeep has been slacking ie: trees and grass not properly trimmed and there's still we...

Ms. Brown & Special K

Today I had a wonderful surprise I ran into former outreach worker Lorraine and the driver of KMHC at the Jackson Square mall. They were holding hands looking like a happy couple. We chatted for a bit and in my opinion Lorraine was the best KMHC outreach worker this place ever had, she was a ray of sunshine in a dark clouded environment, she was always there for us if we needed help or just to talk. Lorraine was surprised to hear Charles has left the building.  I never got the chance to test out Special K’s driving skills but he was a nice guy to me whenever we met in the hallway or in the community room. I’m glad Lorraine has moved on to better employment and she looks well. I’ve always wondered why staff never get the chance to say goodbye to the tenants and today I found out why.   I also heard some interesting facts about the lovely KMHC Ingrid Nosel and her strange behavior. :P Urban Native Homes Inc must reevaluate the HSC’s position and ask does she really have the ...

The Mystery Has Been Solved

In response to my previous blog, today the person who taped the article on my door came forward, we had a serious conversation and explained to me their good intentions and all is well. At the time I did send an e-mail to the UNH’s Director requesting to look into the matter and to make sure it doesn’t happen again.   She e-mailed me back and gave a vague response "according to the security footage no employee came to my door at the time".  For obvious reasons I didn’t believe her and replied back I’d only be convinced if I looked at the security footage myself. Anyway I’m glad the person came forward to clear the air, I feel better and in the end we shook hands in solidarity.  :) On other news: Cam and his Bluegrass Band entertained the tenants this afternoon and I had a good time. Hostess Sandra gave me a little history on how the band came to be available and play at KMHC and I thank her.   Just a reminder June is Aboriginal month…Don’t forget to hug a...

Photographic Graffiti

Blogger bites into the control, danger & temptation of sweet stuff  This morning I decided to visit a fellow tenant on another floor, whenever I leave my unit I manually close my door because when the door clicks shut by itself it makes a lot of noise. I was gone about 5-10 minutes when I arrived back to my unit I noticed a picture of jelly beans scotch taped to my door. The image you see above is the exact replica. This is not a big deal certainly not worth calling the cops but I am curious, why would someone go through all the trouble and go overboard on the office scotch tape posting a picture from a newspaper!  I could tell it was a rush job. I know my fellow tenants wouldn't pull such a prank. T he KMHC office is closed for Victoria Day but there was staff in the building. After doing an investigation I have one UNH’s employee as a suspect. Reading the caption on the picture I noticed it has the name blogger and sweet stuff.   Message to the perpetrator ne...

Another One Bites The Dust

A few days ago the tenants received a note that KMHC Outreach Worker Charles Jacobs has left the building.  After reading the letter I would suspect he left unexpectedly and now UNH’s is looking for a replacement.   It’s not fair on HOW Lynda Jones who now has to work twice as hard but Hey! That’s how UHN’s operates. Charles & I got along well he earned my respect some time ago when I was upset over Gerimaine’s death. He offered his support. I would describe Charles as a quiet family man who did his job, during smoke breaks he would sit outside text messaging whoever and kept to himself.   During the drama I had with HSC Ingrid Nosel at Christmas time I could tell he was put in a awkward position due to Ingrid’s childish tantrum. “Sorry Tony, Ingrid said you don’t get a gift card” In turn I replied to Charles “That’s Ok!   It’s not your fault” and I patted him on shoulder.   In reality I was thinking Ingrid can shove the gift card up her fat ass I really ...

C-Difficile Virus

Also known as the shits. There’s a “Tenant Notice” posting at three locations of the building warning us that a tenant has the virus. After having a long conversation with the tenant in question and was assured the virus is gone I have no worries. What bothers me is how the KMHC office knew about it.   Immediately the tenant was treated like a leaper. The tenant was banned from attending any programs in the community room, KMHC suggested the tenant be quarantined to their unit.   What shocked me the most is when the UNH’s Director verbally banned the tenant from attending their fundraising Kick Off BBQ which was held at the outside courtyard.  Two hotdogs & a bottle of water Wow! Some BBQ.  :P The KMHC office was told by a blabbermouth tenant who can’t seem to mind her own business and the office right away swings into action without consulting the person with the virus.   Informing the tenants of the virus could have been handled more discreetly ie...

UNH’s Maintenance Dept.

On Monday I dropped off a work order/letter to the KMHC office.   I had a minor electrical problem that needed attention.   I was surprised to get a phone call the same day from Teresa Workman at the head office maintenance dept.   I explained in detail the problem and later Darryl Powell showed up for the inspection and on Friday morning young Cody Powless replaced the electrical unit. :) I have to compliment the UNH’s maintenance staff all three employees were friendly and courteous, It was a great way to start off the weekend.   Happy faces throughout the building from my fellow tenants, even from the office staff, minus the HSC of course.  I’ve been having fun with all the security cameras recently installed in the building.   When the mood strikes I give a little show I might do a little dance or wiggle my butt or blow kisses at the camera just to piss off the HSC Ingrid    Who knows!  One day I may do a strip tease on camera for her...

Tenant Personal File

On March 24 2013 I dropped off a written request to the KMHC office, I would like to read my personal file to look for discrepancies plus for my own interest. I’m probably the first tenant at KMHC to ever ask to read the documents    According to the UNH’s Tenant handbook, page 30, Tenants have the right to see their personal file if they wish to. It’s going on two weeks and once again the HSC Ingrid Nosel has ignored my written letter, so far I have not received a follow up or an explanation on the delay. This is what happens when one goes by proper procedures.   Fuck all!  This also raises a cloud of suspicion and makes me wonder what is the HSC hiding!   Perhaps she’s made false statements and afraid I’ll find out.   You know readers this is what started the riff between Ingrid & I, She pulled this shit on me a few years ago. I can’t stand laziness and incompetence and I’ll never understand why UNH’s keeps her employed here. On other ne...

Close Encounter With N-5

Yes I know what you’re thinking. What is the author referring to. Well Folks!  Yesterday as I was about to leave the building guess who was standing outside at the entrance way?   It was Ingrid Nosel fumbling with her keys, she looked miserable as always and totally 'out of it'.   I waited a second then I decided to open the door to leave, I didn't say a word then walked by her to check my mail. Since she likes issuing N-5 notices to tenants I’m giving her a new Indian name “N-5”. So if you see her waddling down the street due to her thighs rubbing together just point and say “There goes N-5”. :D A new tenant came up with a great idea, a food box to share with other tenants any items that are not used are put in the box so other tenants can help themselves.   It’s like a tenant food share program. I’ve donated many items and I hope this catches on. I can already see since Jan Porter quit her job things are not done efficiently around here. The front entrance win...

Aunt Emily

Hey bloggers I just received a phone call from my sister Leanne, our aunt Emily (my mom’s sister) has passed away.   Gosh!   The last time I saw her was last year at my niece Jennifer King’s Christmas family gathering.   Aunt Emily was sharp as a pencil and the oldest in the King family, 86 yrs. I adored her, one time she said I reminded her of brother Sherwood King. Details of a memorial service for Emily King-Daigneault are sketchy at this time, my sister Leanne said it will be held at the St. Catherines Ontario Native Centre. She’ll keep me updated as more information comes in and I'll post it here RIP Aunt Emily  :(

The Superintendant Has Resigned

Today tenants received a note under the door informing us of her resignation. Boy! I never saw this coming I was sure she’d be here until the building crumbles.   Like I said in a previous post she’s a good maintenance worker but unfortunately she doesn’t communicate well with others. She’d be perfect getting a job in the private sector and running a warehouse by herself   I remember one time before I moved here I was walking along King William, she was putting out the trash when an elderly person across the street fell on the ground, she ran right over to assist the poor woman. That act of kindness is something I would have done. Come to think of it that was my intention when Holy Moses fell in the laundry room and Ingrid Nosel got all pissy about it at the Christmas luncheon and called the cops.   The Super had her own unit at the top floor of this building but never interacted with us after working hours. She kept to herself and did her own thing, she was a loner...

Spencer Has Left The Building

As you may recall in a previous post Spencer Waboose was stressed out to the max due to the eviction notice Koo Gaa Da Win Manitou filed against him.. Thanks to my blog site he received many comments of support from Social Media and when I told him this he felt better knowing he’s not alone. I offered my advice and was willing to walk him to the legal clinic but in the end he declined and decided to bail out.   Fellow tenant Pete & I were the most supportive to Spencer’s dilemma we didn’t want to see him on the streets. After checking many options Spencer decided to move in with his brother at another city.   The Waboose family Sandra and Spencer’s brother were there for him, they sat at the table and worked out a solution and I think it’s a good one and beside who am I to interfere in other family matters.   Spencer asked me if I would help with the moving and if I could find a helper. Yeah I found one alright :P  Fellow tenant Deano who was too busy goofing off...

Swiss Chalet Luncheon @ KMHC

This afternoon the ladies of the tenant committee hosted a luncheon for all the tenants and it was a smashing success. A special thank you to little Debbie for the homemade cake. I mean she went all out slaving over a hot oven. :)   Everybody was there we laughed, we joked around, we poked fun and I said my goodbyes to Marie who is moving out this weekend and I had a great time chatted with my fellow tenants. What I like about the luncheon there was no staff around. This proves we tenants are adults, not children and can behave in a respectful manner to others and we don’t need supervision.   Now for my Scoop of the week: This morning I noticed a serviceman installing a hidden security camera in the community room. Perhaps this is the HSC’s idea of keeping an eye on us and her staff.   As for me I couldn’t care less I just won’t be hanging out in the community room that often.  In this day & age cameras are all over the fucking place. We are turning in...

Evicting Spencer Waboose

Late Friday afternoon Spencer was handed his 2 nd N5 notice by sleazy paralegal Dale Skvereckas on behalf of Koo Gaa Da Manitou Housing Complex.   He was upset and asked me to open the letter and to read the document, it says he has to attend a landlord & tenant hearing to decide if he should stay at KHMC or be evicted.   Spencer is a friend and a fellow tenant he’s also a man with a physical disability, very limited education and had a hard life.   On Tuesday I will take him to the Hamilton Legal Clinic to obtain legal counsel and I hope the best for him. Times like this that I’m ashamed of being aboriginal, years ago I walked away from our culture because I didn’t like the way the majority of Native people treat each other.  Everybody is out to fuck each other over and we’re unable to get along.   Spencer doesn’t need to be kicked out on the street he needs intervention from people who care. If that doesn’t work then assist him in relocating to another ...

Skeleton Staff

Aww the power of the internet…you gotta love it. :) Looks like the core of the KMHC office has moved to the UNH’s building and keeping a skeleton staff here.   An informant told me all phone calls to KMHC have been redirected to head office.   To be honest I think this is a good idea. Give the Super a real office of her own and keep the transportation driver/spy camera monitor Debra LaForme in the back room where she belongs. This explains where Ingrid’s been hiding…at head office. I knew it all along I mean where else can they stick the olde broad.  This is good news let Janis and the rest of the staff deal with her.  Mark my words!   In six months everybody will be bitching and hating each other.   Picture this: Janis & Ingrid in a bitch fight, scratching and hair pulling over requisitions & reports not completed all the while Ingrid is shouting “IS THAT A THREAT!!....IS THAT A THREAT!! ....this is her paranoid response whenever she’s being ...

She's Baaack!

Today at 12.30 pm I attended the Nutritional luncheon held at the community room hosted by the Hamilton Aboriginal Health Centre.   It was fun hanging out with my fellow tenants Delores, Marie, Deano, Debbie, Janis, Linda and others.   I ate a light snack and played one game of bingo then I left early because I had to meet a friend from outside the building.   When I got back home I decided to see if there was any coffee left over from the luncheon.   I grabbed my coffee cup and when I walked in the community room Lo & behold! Guess who came out of hiding and sitting at the table stuffing her face…Yep you guessed right…. it was Ingrid Nosel.  I completely ignored her and walked straight to the coffee machine and helped myself.   As I was leaving I noticed she was staring at me giving dirty looks.  And you know what!   She can make all the ugly faces she wants because it’s not going to provoke a reaction from me. She tried that before at the la...

Ministry Of Aboriginal Affairs

With all the shit that went on over the past few months I sent my blog link to The Ministry Of Aboriginal Affairs about Urban Native Homes Inc. listing my concerns and complaints about KMHC.   Yesterday I received a phone call from a representative of the Ministry Of Aboriginal Affairs.   They read my blog and the Urban Native Homes Inc. website. They are not a financial supporter of UNH’s so she gave me some excellent suggestions and pointed me to the right direction.  I’m not going into detail what we spoke about but l will say this, the Government is watching Urban Native Homes Inc. On other news: Tenant Marie has given her notice she’s not happy here and is moving to London to live with her sister.   I gave her a big hug and wished her good luck in her future. She’s always been nice to me.  As for me I go about my business and I'm getting on with life.  I don't pay attention to what goes on around KMHC unless it involves me. The atmosphere around th...

Hamilton Regional Police Services

Since I had two visits from the police over KMHC and Ingrid & John Nosel’s strange behavior I decided to post a blog about the boys in blue.   Over the years I’ve learned to appreciate and respect what these men and women do to protect the community, it’s not an easy job. I worked for many years at the Festival Banquet Hall as the security doorman, Albert my boss has friends on the police force and every now and then the officers would drop by on a Saturday night to say hello to us and have a quick bite to eat then back on patrol.  The Festival hosted many police wedding receptions and other police events and it was a blast.  They really know how to celebrate a wedding with a great sense of "police humor", on duty officers would drop by for a minute to congratulate the happy couple then jump back in their cruisers.   During the evening they took pictures of the bride in her beautiful wedding gown and the groom pretending to be pushing a police car.   Ha! I...

Unit Inspection 2013

Yesterday there was a uncompleted sloppy typed letter delivered under my door from Urban Native Home Inc. “ 24 hour notice to enter”   I have no problem with inspections as long as it’s done in moderation.   The last one I had was on November 22, 2012 at 11.45 am. The Super and Charles did a though job.   There’s not much that could happen in two months that would merit another inspection. Today UNH’s top maintenance guy Darryl Powell and his sidekick Trevor Owen showed up just after 11 am.   Moments before the inspection I stated a few points about the written notice.   The tenant’s name and a UNH’s employee’s signature were missing from the letter also the reason for the inspection was not written down.  I found out yesterday after calling a lawyer: by law the landlord MUST have a good reason for entering a unit and put it in writing.   Darryl was cool about my complaints and I asked that he pass it on to the office. Ground rules approved by the...

Indian Residential Schools

One of the bleakest times in our Canadian history is when Native children were forced into Residential Schools and the emotional and physical abuse these poor kids had to go through.   I personally don’t know any Natives that experienced it but I have read the stories and watched the documentaries. As a fallout of the residential schools many suffer throughout their lives from post traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, fear of others and unresolved anger issues, drug abuse and alcoholism. Tonight I was talking with a fellow tenant, during our conversation something revealing came up…HSC Ingrid Nosel as a child was a victim of the Native Residential School System in Manitoba which would explain her anti social behavior, unnecessary fear and inability to relate to others.   Now it’s starting to come together, here I was thinking she’s a bitch but in reality she’s acting on how she was treated growing up in a Residential school.   A while back I posted how KMHC rules trea...

The Aftermath

This afternoon I got a knock on my door it was PC Terry Oliver of the Hamilton Regional Police Dept.    He wanted to know the events that happened yesterday on the street between me and John Nosel. I told him exactly what I wrote in my previous blog and I stand by my statement.  According to the officer John Nosel denied he was taking pictures but was playing video games.   Right!  What 60 year old man plays video games on a white camera phone raised up to eye level and clicking one button.:P   The officer nodded when I said it’s not right to take pictures without the person’s consent. He asked if I had any mental health issues I replied no, I didn’t take offence to his question I understand he’s doing his job.   Then he asked what started the problem between Ingrid and I, I immediately said “it’s because of this blog” and nothing to do with my tenancy.    The officer said Ingrid is afraid of me, which I replied her fear is totally u...

John Nosel….Busted

Hey bloggers about hour ago I was talking with my fellow tenants at the entrance of the building, as I was leaving I noticed John Nosel, Ingrid’s husband taking pictures of me while sitting in his parked van.   I thought what the fuck is he doing?   So I approached him and asked “why are you taking pictures of me?”  He rolled down his window and shouted “you got a problem Queen!  You fucking faggot this is a free country I can take pictures of whoever I want”  I looked at him and said is that the best you can do as far as insults, I then walked away. You know it’s really bad that KMHC aboriginal tenants have to put up with shit like this. John Nosel is not a staff member nor is he a tenant. I remember a few years ago John & I had a civil conversation I asked where he met Ingrid he replied at church.  Now when I think of it this is what religion does to people makes them narrow minded and unable to see outside the box.  :P As far as I know there ...
