Continuing from my previous blog post, today I found out the
community room is infested with bedbugs yet the KMHC office staff failed to
inform the tenants in writing. I had to
figure it out when another “24 hr. notice to enter unit” was quickly delivered
under my door by HOW Christine Demik at 4 pm. (you should see that girl move). The notice says due to bedbugs found in the
common area of the building (The community room) there will be a bedbug
building inspection on Friday. This is interesting
because there are no couches or beds in the community room. There’s a kitchen
and closet area, tables and chairs in the centre and computer station in the
corner. In fact the community room is a low ceiling bachelor unit with no bathroom
or appliances. Bedbugs don’t
discriminate you can be rich or poor, young or old like the HSC or pear shaped
like HOW Lynda Jones those buggers will come after you. I think when KMHC had the
St.Valentines Day luncheon in the community room the bedbugs came in disguised as lovebugs then infesting
the area. :D
It’s a serious problem in our fair city. Recently at the multicultural group we had an open discussion on the stigma involving bedbugs and why we can’t eradicate
them.
The main reason it’s a multi billion dollar business the pest control companies are
making large profits by going around buildings steam cleaning, spraying
furniture and homes yet those little blood sucking bugs keep coming back. Manufacturers that design nylon bedbug mattress covers are expensive but worth it. Years ago cockroaches use to be the main
infestation today bedbugs have top billing. The Gov’t has to get involved by working on a
permanent solution. If intelligent
humans can send a robot to planet Mars and send information back to Earth then
surly we can develop a safe permanent pesticide that will kill bedbugs once and
for all.
Personally I can’t stand bedbugs they are worse then any
pests I’ve encountered including the KMHC office staff. I keep my apt clean and tidy 24/7 and I’m
glad to say my neighbour in 1-D does the same.
For my own peace of mind I have a box spring and mattress bedbug cover encasement and I check it often.
It's a good thing the community room is located at the far end of the
hallway. Before I sat down to write this
blog I checked my bed area again, there are no bedbugs in my unit. On Friday I will briefly allow the Action Pest
Control guy in my unit but I’ll be laying ground rules: Do not touch or move my
furniture or my belongings, if anything has to be moved I can do it
myself. I’m a big man.

Hell, I’m not even on the payroll and I can do a better job informing tenants, the KMHC staff is useless. When I say KMHC staff I’m referring to HSC Ingrid and the little hobbit HOW Lynda Jones.
