Attitude Adjustment

Oh Look! A monkey with attitude. :D

Since UNH’s head office move to the KMHC building the atmosphere around here has been pleasant.  I’ll sometimes exchange a hello or a wave with head office staff and all is well. :)  Then we come to the Housing Outreach Worker Lynda Jones this woman acts like a total bitch.  This morning I quietly drop off a maintenance work order on the UNH’s receptionist desk counter and H.O.W. Lynda Jones was standing nearby, to my surprise she said in a bitchy tone “You're not supposed to be in the office and any letters delivered under the office door will be sent back to you!”.  I didn’t respond to her words instead I dropped off the letter and left….I’m not going to play her game.  As an alternative Lynda could have said thank you or nothing since the letter wasn't addressed to her.  When it comes to tenant issues I will deliver my request as I see fit or we can go to the landlord and tenant board to resolve the issue.  It seems redundant to mail or fax a maintenance work order request when the UNH’s office reception is now 10 feet across the hall from my unit.  After a year and half HOW Lynda Jones broke the rule she’s not to speak to me and she needs an attitude adjustment.  As with the HSC Ingrid the silent treatment is over once Lynda opened her mouth.  Other UNH’s staff members are respectful and polite to Native elders there is no need for Lynda to behave in this manner.  With the UNH’s scandal still fresh in our minds what Lynda Jones did was ruin the already tarnished image and reputation of Urban Native Homes Inc.   Keep this up Lynda and you’ll be applying for E.I. benefits while polishing up your resume.  Remember you can be replaced. :P

On another topic I have to thank UNH’s maintenance dept. for responding to my previous work order request and it looks like the KMHC building grounds are finally being maintained.  The old furniture sitting at the side of the building was an eyesore and the lawn area has been mowed.

I have to admit I’ve been in a great mood since the UNH’s scandal broke out.  I go about my own business, greet my friends in the building and focus on activities away from KMHC.   Life is good.  :)

A few weeks ago I received this information from a reliable source. The main reason former HOW Christine Demik quit UNH's was to get away from Lynda Jones.

Poor Working Environment

My unit is located near the KMHC office, along with a friendly wave or hello I see the junior staff going about their business in a cheerful manner with the exception of one employee.   You would think KMHC has a pleasant working environment but that is not the case.   March 2016 is when Urban Native Homes head office was forced to move from their former spacious location to the cramp basement level of KMHC.   There were approx. 8-10 staff members at the time.   Then the Urban Native Homes financial scandal broke out and soon after the current UNH acting director’s illicit past became public knowledge, everyone was worried will they have a job.  Fearful meetings going on in the community room, the rumor mill was in full rotation while I just stood back and observed the panic.   Check your search engine it states this building location is Urban Native Homes head office yet that is not correct.  There is no real head office, the organization has s...

Sandy Holland

On February 27th 2025 I heard the passing of tenant Elder Sandy Holland. I knew she was in bad health and said to her friend she's ready to go.  I met her years ago when she moved to KMHC she seem a bit daffy yet in a nice way, never spoke mean about others but had strong opinions about UNH staff. We would meet at UNH dinner functions and meetings and always offered me hug. She never got personal sharing her life stories with me which I can respect. RIP

The Ladies of KMHC

I & friend Teresa Last week I attended a program host by NWC Hamilton, it was there I met up with six female tenants of KMHC.   It was nice to see the ladies again I was greeted with hugs and smiles.   The program was Holistic teachings by Jane Burning she spoke about the Creator and positive thinking.   I enjoyed the presentation though it was a wee bit long.   During lunch break I had the chance to chat with the KMHC tenants to find out how’s life going at KMHC.   Things haven’t improved most tenants don’t like each other and there’s a lot of negative energy in the building.   I offered a sympathetic ear and didn’t judge as they shared their stories. The big problem with KMHC is tenant Aunt Opie and I’m glad she didn’t attend the NWC program.   You may recall I spoke of her in past blogs, aunt Opie’s negativity spreads throughout KMHC.   She brags about sending false complaint e-mails about tenants and staff to Justin the head direc...
