It’s been quiet around KMHC and I don’t feel like listening to the H.O.W. and a male tenant play “Patty-Cake” in the hallway. :D The past three weeks have been a blast, greeting my favorite tenants, going about my daily activities and hanging out with others outside KMHC. Not even the visit from UNH paralegal clerk could spoil my day, I’ll go into that on a later date.
The Native Women’s Centre of Hamilton does wonderful things and
I highly recommend sponsors, fundraisers and donators support this
organization. I’ve mentioned this before
in a previous blog they do their best assisting natives with their food
bank. Recently for the first time I was
asked if I need a winter coat and I said yes.
I was instructed to meet the ladies at Walmart at a certain time and
date and wouldn’t you know it I couldn’t find them. Eventually I found the NWC outreach workers
Yvonne, Patti and Glenda they greeted me with a smile then I picked out a nice
winter coat that will certainly keep out the winter chill. Escorting me to the checkout was the NWC program
director Miss Dixie she reminded me of my aunt.
Before leaving I thanked and shook her hand for the gift. Migwetch/Thank you. Walking to the bus stop I met up with tenants Uncle Albert and Peter they also picked up their gift. :)
Remember Janis Lewis-Deeley the UNH director who was fired
by the UNH board members! I found out on a website she’s the vice-president board member of Native Women’s Centre. Wow!
She got back on her feet quite fast. :)
A reminder to read the updated comments on Kenatah
Complex. The tenants up there need
municipal Govt. help. Here is the link. https://tinyurl.com/yavqxfwl
Again there was a mix up with UNH ’24 hour notice to enter
unit’ It’s written they want to do
boiler repairs in my unit and may take pictures. I disagree with the notice and I informed
Crystal M. If UNH did research on the
building they would know the basement units have electrical heaters and not
connected to the main boiler plus UNH has to come up with a better reason why they
would take photos of my home. On
notice day I had to go out that afternoon so I connected my stop motion
security camera and guess what, nobody entered my unit.
Once a month I usually check out a movie on matinee Tuesdays
this time I saw ‘Justice League’ at Silvercity Ancaster and I was totally blown
away. If you readers are DC comic book
fans check out the film. Another
community organization I belong to is Wesley Urban Ministries. On Thursday our group had a field trip to
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Please
check out my link for all the fun details. https://tinyurl.com/y7e5brdq
