Approaching the Holiday Season

It’s been quiet around KMHC and I don’t feel like listening to the H.O.W. and a male tenant play “Patty-Cake” in the hallway. :D  The past three weeks have been a blast, greeting my favorite tenants, going about my daily activities and hanging out with others outside KMHC.   Not even the visit from UNH paralegal clerk could spoil my day, I’ll go into that on a later date.   The Native Women’s Centre of Hamilton does wonderful things and I highly recommend sponsors, fundraisers and donators support this organization.   I’ve mentioned this before in a previous blog they do their best assisting natives with their food bank.   Recently for the first time I was asked if I need a winter coat and I said yes.   I was instructed to meet the ladies at Walmart at a certain time and date and wouldn’t you know it I couldn’t find them.   Eventually I found the NWC outreach workers Yvonne, Patti and Glenda they greeted me with a smile then I picked out a ni...

Kenatah Housing Complex

My door Last week KMHC had a Halloween door decoration contest.   As you can see in the pix I didn’t put much effort in the decoration so I didn’t expect to win anything.   On Halloween day I got two surprises delivered under my door.  For participating I receive a $5.00 Tim Horton gift card and my first UNH letter from Crystal M. n ot knowing what to expect I opened the letter ‘will I be pissed off or delighted’.   Actually I was delighted for the first time since 2013 it was a ‘Notice of no change in rent” and it required my signature.     I knew my rent would be the same yet I do not trust UNH & it’s best to get written confirmation.   I don’t want my name involved in their UNH rent subsidy scandal.   No worries I’m still basking in the glory but don’t expect the landlord and I to be sitting around a campfire holding hands and singing songs.   I still have unanswered management questions and their lack of decorum is ap...
