Hello readers this is my review of the local Aboriginal
events that went on in our community.
Similar to last year the weather Saturday was hot and humid at Gage Park
mini Pow Wow or as some Natives call it “the fake Pow Wow” so I didn’t stick
around long. :P Unfortunately the event
has deteriorated, less dancer participation and I notice public attendance was
low. Could be due to lack of advertising,
the weather or people are tired of seeing the same thing every year. Aside from that I did run into a few friends
and acquaintances that make the trip worthwhile. Speaking of trips the UNH’s driver Tim
abruptly quit the job on Friday, I never had the opportunity to know the guy
and by choice I never use the transportation services. The UNH Administration had to step up to the plate again. Next
day unknown to tenant elders who rode the van to the Pow Wow the trip was one way, they were expected to find their own way home or wait for bus tickets
to be distributed. There was grumbling for sure over that. The delay didn’t
bother me because I rode home using the SoBi bike sharing service.
Yesterday was the official Aboriginal Day in Canada and
where else to celebrate it but at Hamilton City Hall. Hosted by the Regional Indian Centre of
Hamilton the speeches from local dignitaries was inspiring, the Native dancing
were entertaining, the hot dogs & chips were fresh and once again running
into former tenants and UNH’s staff was the icing on the cake. (And yes they did serve cake.) I and former UNH staff hugged, laughed and
shared insightful information on UNH’s and especially Ingrid and her antics. What a great way to spend
the lunch hour.

Saving the best for last! UNH staff is aware of this and I want to share publicly what I’ve heard regarding HCS Ingrid Nosel. Many moons ago the old gal has been saying to whoever will listen that I’m in love with her! Whaaat! When I heard this I fell over with laughter. :D Ingrid when you read my blog please know after observing you and your genetic pool the idea of fornification is not possible, I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. If you want to get lucky go back to your husband that dirty old man John Nosel.
My Gosh! I’m still laughing. :D
Have a great day everybody. :)
