Bulletin Boards

What a great way to end the month of January by mentioning the various KMHC letters and notes on the bulletin boards. :P  Before the holidays I personally saw HOW Lynda Jones post a note on the board, she noticed tenants hanging around the lobby and complained this is a no no. (Obviously she’s spying via the security cameras).  My response - LOBBY!  We don’t have a lobby, it’s a stairway and where are tenants suppose to be while waiting for a taxi or a guest to arrive, perhaps outside in the sub zero weather!  She’s such a twat!  Oh and here's another one, remember the blog I wrote about the blue recycling bins.  During the holidays KMHC staff decided to put them back along the basement floor which is fine since they were closed for a week.   After the holidays they removed them and get this last week there’s a notice on the board announcing the KMHC office will put the blue bins back on the floor.  You see where I’m going with this!  Mass confusion!  I tell you… a monkey and two chimpanzees could better run this place.  For the most part the bulletin boards are used for quoting mundane rules and regulations and the limited programs don’t interest me.
Now let’s move on to the current UNH’s Director Christine L. I’m sure most of you are wondering who is this woman!  Where did she come from and where is she going.  I first saw her last June at the Aboriginal Weekend Festival she was about to make a speech about UNH’s but seemed nervous and confused I soon lost interest and moved on to the aboriginal exhibits and display.  We haven’t formally met but I once held the door open for her when she entered the KMHC building she responded with a thank you.  Before the holidays I sent her a fax request and to my surprise she responded quickly.  (To be honest I didn’t expect a reply considering who her mommy is.)   The UNH’s Director didn’t score any points when she said I’m not invited to the Christmas gathering.  That being said I will look forward to the day we have a chat I’ll be interested in picking her brain ie: learn more about her character and to find out if the apple falls near or far from the tree.
It’s common knowledge UNH’s is experiencing financial scandal and corruption, it's something I predicted many moons ago. 1 million dollars in the hole and 15 staff members were thrown under the bus.  These people gave their heart and soul to the non profit organization and look what happened.  :(
To Christine & mommy Ingrid - Did you know certain Govt agencies have software that can tap and record business telephone conversations and fax, hack into your office computers and smart phones, scan the hard drive, hook up a link to your security cameras at head office, infiltrate passwords, obtain access to e-mails business financial statements and documents without anyone knowing about it!  I’m sure UNH’s has nothing to worry about. :P
I’m glad to announce by choice it’s been nearly 2 years since I last spoke to the HSC Ingrid Nosel it was the time she made a fool of herself at a tenant meeting. It's also been 1 year since I called out HOW Lynda Jones about her poor job performance and I have no regrets.
Later this week I’m heading to Toronto,Ontario I’ll be stopping at the Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada Regional office to obtain my Native status card.  After my task I plan to walk down Yonge Street and check out the sights before heading back home. :)
Until next time, play safe

Wigwamin Terrace

After many years I received a call for Toronto Native Housing offering a vacancy so I decided to explore my options by attending a viewing of what's available. But first I did a phone interview with acting project manager Paul Feitelberg. He said my personal and financial information checks out fine then we talked about the negative reference I got from Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services. I was asked for my side of the story and I also invited Paul to read this blog site to find out more who I am.  A few days later I called Paul for an update, I was complimented on my blog posts and he could see the love and compassion I have for the Native people on this blog site.  Due to the Hamilton cyber attack it was difficult for Paul get a reference from my current housing provider so with my assistance I helped him get in contact with their office. I received an excellent tenant reference from my housing provider. When I asked about OAHS he said he's going to ignore their negative re...

The Ladies of KMHC

I & friend Teresa Last week I attended a program host by NWC Hamilton, it was there I met up with six female tenants of KMHC.   It was nice to see the ladies again I was greeted with hugs and smiles.   The program was Holistic teachings by Jane Burning she spoke about the Creator and positive thinking.   I enjoyed the presentation though it was a wee bit long.   During lunch break I had the chance to chat with the KMHC tenants to find out how’s life going at KMHC.   Things haven’t improved most tenants don’t like each other and there’s a lot of negative energy in the building.   I offered a sympathetic ear and didn’t judge as they shared their stories. The big problem with KMHC is tenant Aunt Opie and I’m glad she didn’t attend the NWC program.   You may recall I spoke of her in past blogs, aunt Opie’s negativity spreads throughout KMHC.   She brags about sending false complaint e-mails about tenants and staff to Justin the head direc...

Koo Gaa Da Win Manitou

I hope one day we can truly say there is a haven where older natives who experienced homelessness can find a place to call home and have the resources available for the best quality of life in their golden years. Koo Ga Da Win Manitou Housing Complex has a long journey in order to reach that goal. Perhaps more funding is needed or better trained/experienced outreach workers who can relate to tenants concerns and health issues. Programs that would interest all tenants as a whole would be nice. Most important we tenants must try to get along with their neighbours. (as the good book says "Love thy neighbour") I've been here less then a year and I've observed alot, we have a diversity of tenants living in the building from different reservations and walks of life. Some have problems with alcohol, prescription drug addictions, physical disabilities and slight mental disabilities. The one thing we all have in common is our health concerns, from chronic back pain to deadly...
