Bedbug Inspection 2015 part 2

Lately with all the shite that's gone on around here ie: unnecessary cop calling, the KMHC office staff and their lack of understanding, lame fire drills and now we have an encore presentation…..Bedbugs!
Just last month UNH’s/KMHC hired a contractor to exterminate the bloody bastard bugs and apparently they are back.  Today we received a notice stating bedbugs have been sighted in the common areas and hallways of the KMHC building.  Looks to me the contractor did a terrible job so Good Shepherd Works will be doing a bedbug inspection on Friday…..UGH!  I rather be present when inspections are scheduled so I hope the inspector shows up early, I have things to do.  I know for a fact tenants are pissed off and frustrated, one tenant is planning to move out due to the bedbug scare and another suggests they bomb the building I don’t mean nuke it.  I mean UNH’s should put tenants up in a hotel then bomb the building with top of the line pesticide.  No more monkey business stop hiring cheap contractors.
For the record I spent part of the long weekend cleaning my unit just in case the annual unit inspection is posted on the bulletin board.  I physically scrubbing the floors and bathroom area, washing the walls, did my laundry and now this Friday I have to look at strangers inspecting my unit wearing white contamination suits. Btw I have not seen any bedbugs in my unit nor do I have bites on my body and I can prove it. ;)

Now for something humorous:  Today we had heavy rains so around noon the HOW’s decide to go out for lunch. You should have seen Lynda running down the street in effort to avoid the heavy downpour.  I’m amazed those little legs can run so fast while carrying so much weight reminds me of an ostrich being chased by a cheetah.  :D

KMHC staff doesn't or won't post a time on their notice so this morning I called the Good Shepherd Works office to request an ETA. The lady was friendly and understanding and will instruct the inspector to check my unit first. Sure enough they arrived at 8:45 am. They gave my unit a full inspection and she'll pass on my recommendation to the KMHC office. If KMHC staff ignore my recommendation then they are at fault in regard to future bedbug infestations. Good News! I have no bedbugs I passed with flying colors. :)

UGH! Today we have another bedbug inspection from Good Shepherd Works this time I know one of the inspectors. I asked Steve the status on the bedbug epidemic in Hamilton he replied it's looks grim and will continue. The team gave some tips on prevention and I'm glad to report no bedbugs in my unit. :)

Poor Working Environment

My unit is located near the KMHC office, along with a friendly wave or hello I see the junior staff going about their business in a cheerful manner with the exception of one employee.   You would think KMHC has a pleasant working environment but that is not the case.   March 2016 is when Urban Native Homes head office was forced to move from their former spacious location to the cramp basement level of KMHC.   There were approx. 8-10 staff members at the time.   Then the Urban Native Homes financial scandal broke out and soon after the current UNH acting director’s illicit past became public knowledge, everyone was worried will they have a job.  Fearful meetings going on in the community room, the rumor mill was in full rotation while I just stood back and observed the panic.   Check your search engine it states this building location is Urban Native Homes head office yet that is not correct.  There is no real head office, the organization has s...

The Ladies of KMHC

I & friend Teresa Last week I attended a program host by NWC Hamilton, it was there I met up with six female tenants of KMHC.   It was nice to see the ladies again I was greeted with hugs and smiles.   The program was Holistic teachings by Jane Burning she spoke about the Creator and positive thinking.   I enjoyed the presentation though it was a wee bit long.   During lunch break I had the chance to chat with the KMHC tenants to find out how’s life going at KMHC.   Things haven’t improved most tenants don’t like each other and there’s a lot of negative energy in the building.   I offered a sympathetic ear and didn’t judge as they shared their stories. The big problem with KMHC is tenant Aunt Opie and I’m glad she didn’t attend the NWC program.   You may recall I spoke of her in past blogs, aunt Opie’s negativity spreads throughout KMHC.   She brags about sending false complaint e-mails about tenants and staff to Justin the head direc...

Sandy Holland

On February 27th 2025 I heard the passing of tenant Elder Sandy Holland. I knew she was in bad health and said to her friend she's ready to go.  I met her years ago when she moved to KMHC she seem a bit daffy yet in a nice way, never spoke mean about others but had strong opinions about UNH staff. We would meet at UNH dinner functions and meetings and always offered me hug. She never got personal sharing her life stories with me which I can respect. RIP
